1st Battalion, 1st Confederate Infantry
The first battalion of the 1st Confederate Infantry regiment was a temporary unit that acted as catch all for former southeast Missouri MSG infantry units that were unable to raise a regiment. The men that made up this battalion were later filtered out to finish two Missouri Confederate infantry regiments. Most went to Company K, 5th Missouri or Company K, 6th Missouri.
